Fall Baby Quilts :)

I've been doing a lot of sewing lately - just not so much blogging about it.  So this post is kind of a mish-mash of a few different snugglies that I've just finished up.....and one that I'm working on.  :)

This little baby quilt was made with Ruby/Bliss fabrics by MODA with the backing from Vintage Modern.  All the fabrics are from the same designers (Bonnie & Camille).  I LOVE THEIR FABRIC!  The colors are so fun to create with....they all go together and are so sweet.  This little quilt will be going to a sweet little girl coming to the Hendrickson family this month :)  HOORAY for babies!  (One nice thing about giving baby quilts as gifts is that that you get to hold the baby as much as you want!  :)  And is there anything sweeter than a new baby???

 This quilt is finished with dense quilting in swirls and paisleys.  It will hold up to years and years of love and dragging around and washing.  The binding is a french double fold - machine stitched to the front and hand stitched to the back.
 The inside border is made up of small prarie points :)  Super cute for baby - I used to hold my blanky when I was small and rub my thumb against the corners of the blanket.  If she does that then she'll have plenty of points to choose from.

 The backing is just gorgeous!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the reds and aquas in the Vintage Modern line (I sell it in my Etsy store)  :)

It's getting really chilly outside here in Idaho, so I don't think I'll be taking outdoor, grassy, yummy quilt pictures for much longer this season.....can you see our brown grass??  WOW- it is FALL!  (22 degrees last night!)

I "hope" that little Hope will love this quilt to pieces :)

I also finished quilting this cutie for Hope's twin brother, Ammon :)

This is the same pattern I used for Liam's quilt - with a few different fabrics thrown in.  It's an allover freehand swirl for the quilting.  So cute!

I also found some time to quilt this little Halloween table runner ..... you can never have
 too many of these right??

{Not the best picture - but it's a simple patchwork design and each square is quilted with a spider web design.}

Last night I got an idea for a new little girl quilt with some super adorable fabric that just arrived at my house from MODA (Odds & Ends - also in my Etsy shop!) - so I spent a little while putting this top together.....it is so sweet - is anyone else having a little girl anytime soon????  :)

I love all the cute little inspirational sayings on some of the fabric.  :)

I love little girlie fabrics..... I love cute little boys too!

Oh....and I love quilting!  :)

Just checking in with a picture or two of my newest quilt. I'll have better pictures soon - need to finish the binding and give it a good wash. I'm so in LOVE with the colors and charm of this little quilt....perfect for a sweet baby named Hope :). More to come!

Family Room Quilt :)

How's that for a snazzy title??

 This is my family room and the new home for my latest quilt.  I think it fits right in :)  Maybe I'm a bit "biased"....hahaha (I love sewing humor!)

This quilt has been on my machine for about a week and I've put probably 8 hours into the quilting over that time.
The binding is a french fold, machine stitched to the front and hand stitched to the back.  All the dense quilting makes this a really eye catching quilt, plus ultra long lasting (good for all the use it will get in front of the T.V. from my kids!) :)   It turned out better than I expected :)  And that's always nice!

 Each block of the quilt is quilted in a different pattern.  This made it really fun because I got to try out a bunch of different designs and patterns in small manageable areas.  Some I like, some I don't,
but most of them I absolutely L.O.V.E.!

 {Back of the quilt - shows the quilting}

{this picture is taken before the quilt has been washed for the first time - after washing, the cotton shrinks a bit around the quilting, creates puckers, and the fabrics soften up quite a bit - makes a super snuggly quilt!}

{Dragon fly block with free form swirls}

{After washing, you can really see the softness and the detail to the quilting}

{Flower with LOTS of petals :)}

 Oh how I love texture.....{sigh}

{Love the blue swirls, the red blocking, and the yellow sunburst!}

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE quilting?  :)
