Family Room Quilt :)

How's that for a snazzy title??

 This is my family room and the new home for my latest quilt.  I think it fits right in :)  Maybe I'm a bit "biased"....hahaha (I love sewing humor!)

This quilt has been on my machine for about a week and I've put probably 8 hours into the quilting over that time.
The binding is a french fold, machine stitched to the front and hand stitched to the back.  All the dense quilting makes this a really eye catching quilt, plus ultra long lasting (good for all the use it will get in front of the T.V. from my kids!) :)   It turned out better than I expected :)  And that's always nice!

 Each block of the quilt is quilted in a different pattern.  This made it really fun because I got to try out a bunch of different designs and patterns in small manageable areas.  Some I like, some I don't,
but most of them I absolutely L.O.V.E.!

 {Back of the quilt - shows the quilting}

{this picture is taken before the quilt has been washed for the first time - after washing, the cotton shrinks a bit around the quilting, creates puckers, and the fabrics soften up quite a bit - makes a super snuggly quilt!}

{Dragon fly block with free form swirls}

{After washing, you can really see the softness and the detail to the quilting}

{Flower with LOTS of petals :)}

 Oh how I love texture.....{sigh}

{Love the blue swirls, the red blocking, and the yellow sunburst!}

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE quilting?  :)

WHY didn't I know all your secrets when I was living there???? You and I should have been friends a LONG time ago. There is so much we connect on! Man, I am such a loser for missing out on getting to know you better while I could. You are so talented and awesome and like all the things that I like. I guess now we'll just have to be Pinterest friends. BAAA! Seriously, you are amazing. and, do you take custom orders? :)

MISS YOU!

I love the color selection. I am trying to get better at choosing combinations that are vibrant but don't clash. There are some great lessons in quilting..... :)
